The short version

DDigiLeads runs this site and decides what it collects

DDigiLeads, a Bahamian digital-growth firm, publishes the Bahamas Digital Readiness Index (BDRI) and this website. For BDRI, DDigiLeads reads how each listed business shows up online at its Four Digital Doors: its Google Business Profile, website, Facebook Page (the business page, not a personal profile) and WhatsApp. Each of these readings gives the business a score. DDigiLeads can also help a business that asks for help after its reading. Write to contact@bdri.bs about your information.

The site records what visitors look up and what they send through its forms, and counts webpage views and a few actions without identifying anyone. The services that host the site and supply the map it shows also receive each visitor’s IP address (the number that identifies their connection) and browser details. A visitor who presses Accept on the cookie banner also sends Google Analytics the webpages they open and some of what they do on them, their IP address, and their browser and device details. DDigiLeads uses this information to run the site, reply to requests and see which readings and webpages are used. It may also email people who send a form about a business, and businesses the site lists, about their reading and DDigiLeads’ services. Anyone can opt out of those emails at any time by replying to one or writing to contact@bdri.bs.

The site is written for business owners and organisations, and it does not knowingly collect information from children.

Your case

What is kept and what you can ask depend on your case

Each card below leads to one case. Pick the one that fits you.

When you browse

What the site records as you use it

Each webpage you open sends details like these to the services behind the site

  • Your IP address, the number that identifies your connection
  • Your browser and device type
  • The webpage you are on

Cloudflare hosts the site, so every webpage you open passes through it, and it runs the anti-spam check that turns away automated form submissions. Another service supplies the map on the score webpage (“Check your score” in the menu), so your browser asks it for the map as that webpage loads.

What each kind of service receives is in the list of services

The site sets no advertising cookies, and analytics cookies only if you press Accept

A cookie is a small file a website keeps in your browser. The site also needs a few small notes there to work, such as whether the opening animation on the score webpage has already played. The anti-spam check on the site’s forms, run by Cloudflare, may also store what it needs to tell a person from an automated program.

Looking a business up records what you looked up

  • Which business you opened, and when
  • What you typed to find it
  • Your browser and device type
  • The short label on the link that brought you, if it carried one: DDigiLeads adds these to links it sends

The record shows DDigiLeads which readings are used and whether a link it sent was opened. DDigiLeads also uses how often a business is looked up to decide which businesses to email about their reading and its services.

The record is kept in the site’s database, and DDigiLeads copies it, or a count of it, into its own records.

A business name typed into the search box at the end of a webpage travels to the score webpage in the web address, so it also reaches Cloudflare, which hosts the site, and can show in your browser’s history.

To ask for a lookup to be deleted, write to contact@bdri.bs with the business and the day.

On other webpages, opening a section marked with a plus sign adds one to a count

The count is kept per section and per day, and shows DDigiLeads which sections are read. The count holds nothing about who opened a section and uses no cookie or visitor number, though the message that adds to it passes through Cloudflare, like every webpage you open.

Every webpage you open, and a few things you do on it, add one to a count

The count is kept per day, and records:

  • Which webpage was opened
  • Where the visit came from: the short label on the link that brought you, if it carried one, otherwise only the name of the website you came from, such as google.com, otherwise “direct”
  • Which action happened, if any: a search on the score webpage, a search that found no business, a click on “Share on WhatsApp” or “Copy the link”, a click on a link to a PDF, or the first use of a form that sends something
  • How many times

The count cannot tell who you are: it holds no cookie, no visitor number, no IP address and no browser details, keeps neither the full address of the webpage you came from nor any time finer than the day, and cannot follow one person from webpage to webpage. It runs for every visitor, whatever you choose on the cookie banner. It works the same way as the section count above.

It shows DDigiLeads which webpages are used and where visitors come from.

If you press Accept, Google Analytics also records your visit

Google Analytics is a Google service that shows how a website is used. If you press Reject instead, nothing from Google loads.

Once it loads, it receives:

  • The webpages you open and some of what you do on them: a search, a click to share, a request you send, scrolling, a click on a link to another website, and a file download
  • Your IP address, from which it works out a rough location: your city, region and country
  • Your browser and device details: the browser and its version, the device’s make and model, its operating system and its screen size
  • What its cookies record: they tell your browser apart from others and recognise it when you come back. They stay in your browser until they expire or you clear them.

With it, DDigiLeads can also see how many visitors go on to send a request.

Your browser remembers your choice. To change it, use “Cookie settings” at the foot of any webpage, which opens the banner again. If you change from Accept to Reject, the site deletes the Google Analytics cookies in your browser.

Forms and email

DDigiLeads uses what you send to answer your request

Each form asks for a way to reach you and what your request is about

Depending on the form, it asks for:

  • Your email address, and a phone or WhatsApp number if you choose to give one
  • The business or organisation you are asking about, with details such as its island, its industry or whether it is on Google Maps, and your role where the form asks
  • What you want, picked from a list or written in your own words
  • A business’s website, Facebook Page or WhatsApp number, if you know them
  • The short label on the link that brought you, if it carried one

DDigiLeads uses what you send, through a form or by email to contact@bdri.bs, to answer your request: to send a reading or a full breakdown of one, read a business’s Four Digital Doors, or reply to a question. If you asked about a business, DDigiLeads may also email you about that business’s reading and its own services. You can opt out of those emails at any time by replying to one or writing to contact@bdri.bs, and you still get what you asked for.

Requests are kept in the site’s database and copied to DDigiLeads’ own records. What each kind of outside service receives is in the list of services

To ask for what you sent to be deleted, write to contact@bdri.bs.

If your business is listed

What a listing shows, and how to ask about it

What the site shows about a business comes from public sources

Shown on the site

  • Its name, island and industry, and a position on the map
  • What was found at each of the Four Digital Doors (Google Business Profile, website, Facebook Page and WhatsApp), and when they were last read
  • Its score and stage in the 2026 edition, the index as published in 2026. The stage is one of four, set by which of its doors a customer can find and use.
  • A newer estimate with its date, if its doors were read again later or it was added after the edition
  • Whether Google lists it as closed for good

Not shown

  • Phone numbers
  • Email addresses
  • Website and Facebook addresses
  • Owners’ names, except where a business trades under one
  • What owners send through the forms

Where it came from

  • Google’s own business data
  • BahamasLocal.com, a Bahamian business directory, where most of the list came from
  • An automated check of each website
  • Facebook
  • Public phone numbers, checked to see whether they use WhatsApp

DDigiLeads publishes these readings as public research on how Bahamian businesses show up online.

DDigiLeads also keeps the public contact details it found for each business, which the site does not show, and may email the business about its reading and DDigiLeads’ services. A business can opt out of those emails at any time by replying to one or writing to contact@bdri.bs.

How each door is read is set out on the Methodology webpage

If something about your business is wrong, ask for a fresh reading

On the score webpage, “Update your business details” asks for the business’s doors to be read again from public sources. Once the new reading has been checked, the site shows it with its date, while the score published in the 2026 edition stays as it was. Readings are checked automatically, and a person at DDigiLeads reviews the ones that need it.

Update your business details or write to contact@bdri.bs

You can ask for a listing, or details about you, to be taken down

DDigiLeads reviews each request and replies with what it will change.

Write to contact@bdri.bs with the business name.
